I was supposed to get this posted last week, but decided I wanted to add more photos to the post which I ended up procrastinated on.I’m currently in the process of getting used to working a later schedule instead of early mornings.
Mieroglyphs-I was contacted by the company via Instagram on being an affiliate for them. After checking out their Instagram and their website to see if the brand was something I would want to work with , I decided to agree. The bracelets are made from sustainable materials and are vegan friendly.I went with the S bracelet in a neutral color since I wanted something that would work with all my other accessories and wardrobe.I love that it’s super lightweight and comfortable which is great since I spend most of my day at a computer typing. Check out their website and If you love what they have to offer, check out their e use the discount code COUTURE20 for 20% off of your order.
Old Navy Shoes-You would think after buying 3 pairs of boots from here(I have been living in my chelsea boots since buying them earlier this year) I would no longer be surprised by the quality of their shoes. I ended up picking up the perfect nude heel for under $11 and some navy blue driving loafers(I love the mint color) which are the comfiest flats in my closet right now.
Faux Fur Throw- I talked about this in my last blog post, but honestly, I am still so super obsessed with it and the one I have laying on my closet floor. The next room to get one is probably going to be the livingroom either for the sofa or a shag like rug .
Highwaisted relaxed jean- A bit of a mouthful to say. I have been on the hunt for the perfect white/light colored jeans for a while. I knew I wanted a more relaxed fit and something distressed. While browsing the Nordstrom Rack site I ended up finding Mother Denim jeans. I have heard of this brand, but never tried them before which made me a little leery. After trying them on, I can safely say these are exactly what I had in mind. I got lucky and found a pair of The Perfect Vintage jean by Madewell for about $30! While the pair I have are sold out, I have linked some similar ones.
Urban Outfitters Sweater- It’s no surprise I love Urban Outfitters since I almost always have something linked in a post from them and I briefly worked at one. This BDG Waffle knit sweater is my favorite thing I have ever gotten from UO. I have to stop myself from putting this sweater on everyday. It’s a blush color that works well with all shades of denim and all styles from skinny jeans to flares. Just oversized enough without looking like a tent and a long enough to keep you covered if you pair with leggings.I also love the neck on it. High enough to keep you warm without being constricting likes some turtlenecks. I also picked this up in green multi which is more of a blue with some green mixed in.
What are some of your 5 favorite things you are loving? Hope everyone has a good weekend
You would think after over 2 months of having to wake up early and be out the door by 6:20 at the latest, waking up early would become routine. Definitately not the case for me. I just want to bury myself under the covers and sleep the day away especially since it has been cold, dark and snowy outside . After months about posting about wanting to have a desk, I finally bought one since I will be working from home . Right now I pretty much have my ideal desk layout, however once I’m working remotely, I will be gifted with dual monitors and a clunky phone which will probably take up all of the space on my desk so I am enjoying the space while I can. Garrett bought himself a new desk too since his was starting to break and also to justify the $100 delivery fee since we live no where near Ikea.
Garrett took the day off to accept delivery and assembled both desks by himself. To be honest, I was a little worried on what the quality would be like for the desk, but I’m pleasantly surprised at how solid it feels. I wish cabinet door had a back to it instead of being open and the desk has a smooth, but rough texture that attracts Annabell’s fur, but therwise I am happy with how it looks. It has a decent amount of storage space for all my office supplies and more and just fits against the wall between the window and Garrett’s closet.
Get The look
Desk- I was going between a few different desks from Ikea. I knew I wanted it to be white, compact, and a fairly minimal design. I am happy with the choice that I went with.
Chair-I ended up with an armless chair since I figured it would be easier to sit upright and push my chair under the desk. I found my chair at TJ Maxx, but this chair from Bed,Bath,& Beyond is identical, if not the same chair.
Faux Fur Throw- While I love the look of these faux fur chairs from PB Teen (12)it’s a little outside of my budget. A great way to get this look is a faux fur throw. I ended up picking up this one from Target and I couldn’t be happier with it. If your feeling crafy, there are some DIY videos and articles on how to make your own as well.
Desk Accessories-I ended up getting lucky and finding a pen cup, small organizer tray, and a tape dispenser by Poppin at Marshalls. Another great option for fun desk accessories is Ban.do which has everything from pens, tape, and a bunch of cute notebooks and planners .
Pens-While I love a good ol’ Bic pen, I am loving pens in bright fun prints like these Lily Pullitzer ones from Papyrus or these ones by Sugar Paper at Target
Air Plant-My sister gifted me with an air plant from Prismatic Gardens for Christmas and I love it. It adds a small touch of green and is super easy maintenance. I love this one This plant mister from Urban Outfitters is just as pretty as it is functional and use it for my airplant and other plants around the apartment.
After complaining about wanting a new desk for over a year, he finally got his dream desk, or close enough to it. He ended up ordering a stand to hold his monitors to give it a more clean look and is happy to not have his tower on the floor( much to Annabell’s dismay). His is more of a work station and dwarfs my simple desk in comparison. Next on his list is to buy upgraded computer parts and build a new one.
I will hopefully have an updated apartment post soon. We just bought new curtains for the living room and finally have a sofa cover since the sofa has some scratch marks and tears on it(thanks to Annabell). Since I will be working from home and going back to a later schedule I should be back to posting regularly again or at least aiming for one post a week.
Since it’s been a while since I have done one of these, I decided to do a quick Outfit of the Day Post. I’ve been a fan of Madewell for a few years, but lately I have turned into a fanatic. Since they had their sale over Valentine’s Day weekend and received a gift card from Christmas, I picked up a few things. Since they are known for their denim, I decided to try out their jeans. I’ve been looking for some new high waisted skinny jeans since I live in my black ones from Urban Outfitters. I ended up picking up a sweater I featured in my first blog post and a necklace since I wear the knotshine necklace all the time.
Jacket-Vintage(It was my Grandma’s).Similar here and here
Today, Garrett and I ended up heading to a near by cafe so I could start working on some blog entries and for a change of scenery. The change in work space allows me to work more proficiently and stay focused. Since the weather was starting to clear up and the sun came out, we decided to head to the park and take some photos for an Outfit of the Day post and to get Garrett used to taking photos since he will most likely be my photographer.
My Outfit-To my, this has a Pacific Northwest vibe to it. I think it’s the combination of the red buffalo plaid,Hunter wellies, and the slouchy hat.
I feel like I underestimated how much I would wear and love this jacket. I bought it mostly to wear for fall, however since the jacket is quite warm, its great for when the temperature drops and the oversize fit makes it perfect to wear layers. Since the jeans have a high rise, I paired it with an old loose crop top by Wildfox with my favorite Cardigan over it. Right now, my go to bag is the Transport Zip Tote by Madewell. This bag is perfect for everyday essentials and then some. I managed to pack my iPad 2 , a keyboard, a Louis Vuitton Accessories ,cellphone and swell bottle and everything fit perfectly. Since it was rainy earlier and wet outside , I decided to throw on my Hunter Wellies and to top off the outfit, I added my favorite knitted hat.
