Lately my go to look has been a basic loose tee paired with some mom jeans and either my trusty chelsea boots or a pair of loafers. It makes getting ready in the morning a breeze and is the perfect canvas for pairing with a simple statement necklace.

  1. Old Navy linen boyfriend v-neck– One of my most worn items is my gray shirt in this style and I just picked this up in white not too long ago and have been living in it ever since.
  2. Ol Navy Boyfriend Pocket Tee– Since I wear the shirt mentioned above so much, I decided to get a slightly different styled white tee that I have been wearing just as much,
  3. Free People Mock Me Tank– Despite picking this up in a vibrant color(I own this in plum wine) I have been getting a lot of wear out of this. Perfect for layering for fluxuating temperatures and is offered in a bunch of colors.

  1. Madewell Cruiser jean-I own this style in black and was lucky to find mine on sale instore. While they no longer have the exact same pair I own online, they do styill have the same style available . Though I could have sized down, I went with my normal size for a slightly roomier fit and love pairing them with a simple t (half tucked of course) and my chelsea boots.
  2. Madewell Perfect Vintage Jean– The one pair of jeans I considered returning to Madewell are now my favorite pair. The definiately do have a 90s/vintage vibe to them and get better and more broken in with each wear. Since these are not a stretch denim, throwing them into the washing machine is a no go and are definately a pair to freeze or hand

  1. Old Navy Lazer-Cut Moccasins– While sizing may be limited on the website, you might be able to find these in a local store. I picked these up with the intention of wearing them for spring/summer, but wasn’t able to resist and have been wearing these for a few months. They are super comfy and the cut outs adds just the right amount of detail.
  2. Chelse Boots- They don’t have the pair I have online, I did find some similar versions and ones I wouldn’t mind adding to my closet.
    1. Marc Fischer Chelsea Boot-These look nearly identical to the one’s I have at a steeper price range, however I’m considering ordering these as an upgrade.
    2. ASOS Altico Leather Western Chelsea Boots– I love these! If you were to combine frye’s engineer boot with a chelsea boot this would be the result.

I have mentioned in past fashion blog posts, I love a simple statement necklace. Large bib necklaces are great and can really make an outfit stand out, but for everyday I like something more simple.

  1. John Wind Rose Gold Initial Necklace with Gold Pearl-I love jewelry with intials or monograms on it, This necklace comes in a gorgeous rose gold color and I love the vintage look of it and the pearl detail.
  2. Madewell Knotshine Necklace-This is without a doubt my most worn necklace and despite its constant wear, ( the gold version) has held up very well. Since I own it in silver as well I usually alternate between the two.

Something tells me I will be wearing this look from now into the summer months. What is your current go to uniform?

Spring fashion haul

While the snow is falling outside the window and blanketing my car and driveway, I am fantasizing about Spring. While I love wearing layers of clothes and sweaters, all of my recent purchases show Spring time is on my mind and the warmer weather that’s to come. While I have purchased  more clothes (and shoes)than I have in a while, I’ve been trying to fill in gaps in my closet(mostly blouses). Here are my Spring clothing purchases from the past few weeks.

1Anorak Jacket- After looking through countless options online, I got lucky and found one on sale at a local boutique that was going out of business. The longer length makes this a great alternative to a cardigan for spring time and the light weight material makes this perfect for transition weather. I couldn’t find the exact one online ,but found some that are similar.

2.As soon as I saw this blouse on ChichWish I knew I needed to add it to my closet. One of the big trends continuing into spring are bell sleeves and ruffles. I love the detailing on the sleeve and the contrast against the blue and white stripes.fullsizeoutput_75_fotor

3.Since I’ve been loving mom jeans and high waisted jeans, I wanted to find a boxy cropped length top. This cropped shirt by Spiritual Gangster was another find from the botique that was closing. It  isn’t too short and the boxy fit makes this perfect to throw on top of jeans and head out the door. I also love that this is a graphic tee since I have been wanting to add a few more to my closet. While I couldn’t find the exact one online, I did find some similar ones.

4.I have been on the hunt for a body suit, more specifically a henley style. While browsing the American Eagle website, I happened to find this and immediately ordered it.  I love the deep v-neck and the ribbed fabric. I have a feeling this is going to get a lot of wear and plan on picking this up in white.

5.Lately I have been obsessed with blue, maybe because I’ve avoided this shade for a while(more specifically lighter shades). While shopping around downtown a few weekends I immediatly gravitated to this top since the shade caught my eye and noticed this also happened to be an off the shoulder top(even better!). I can’t wait for it to warm up so I can wear this. I found a few tops that are similar to this one

1.I ended up finding this while at the Free People store this weekend. While it’s on the website for full prince, I lucked out and found it on sale for $29.99 plus an extra 30% off! While it’s actually a tunic, I bought it to wear around this house as an alternative to a robe(working remotley has it’s perks).I love the floral print and the tie detailing on the sleeves.FP.jpg

2.Another Free People find, I have been looking for a mock neck tank top and I love the flowy fit of this.It has just a little bit of drape to and will look great with a bralette under it. I decided to go with the plum color (I own enough black and white tank tops)since it will give a pop of color to black jeans or have a great vibrant contrast with white jeans.

3.It wouldn’t be a haul without me featuring Old Navy shoes. I went in with the intentions to buy the mint colored loafers, however these white perferated moccasins just screamed warm sunny weather. If you can actually believe it, I own flats in every color except brown. These brown ballet flats  were on sale for $9.99 plus an extra 30% off and knew I couldn’t leave the store without them.

4.How can you mention spring time without thinking of greenery and flowers. I ended up falling in love with the planters at Anthropologie store and had a hard time narrowing it down. Since the bf and I had discussed growing some fresh herbs , I knew these herb pots would be perfect . Since they are cement, they have some weight to them  and I love the detailing on them. Now we just need to choose which herbs to plant. While at Anthro, this planter caught my eye when I saw it and was a steal at$14(especially for Anthropologie). I’m still deciding on where this planter is acutally going to go and what I’m going to put in it. I’m thinking of picking up this tree trunk planter or this pink ridged teracotta in the large size.fullsizeoutput_78.jpeg

5.I had been eyeing this top on the Madewell website for a while. When I saw it at the store and tried it on I knew this was coming home with me even though this is a long sleeve version almost identical to a shirt I own already from Madewell. However since I love the print of it so much, I had to add this to my closet. While the shirt is light weight, it still manages to have some weight to it which makes it perfect for a cooler night or when it’s a little chilly out.

6.Because I don’t own enough short sleeve tops from Madewell , I ended up picking this up as well. I love the effortlessness of this top. I love the vertical stripes and I love the cut of this blouse especially the sleeves, which keep it from being your every day short sleeve button up blouse. The looseness of the top and light weight fabric make this perfect when the temperature starts to climb. I can’t wait to wear this with my white moccasins.

Now that my spring wardrobe has pretty much complete, the only thing left for me to buy are a pair (or 2)of sneakers ,possibly another pair of denim shorts and a dress for a wedding I’m going to this spring. I’m eyeing a few different dresses from the brand Show Me Your Mumu. I seriously want to buy everything on the website, so deciding on style of dress and print is going to be a tough choice.

Anyone else starting to buy clothes for Spring? What are you looking to add to your Spring wardrobe?  Hope everyone had a good weekend and has a great Monday!

Dreaming of Spring

We have just gotten our first real taste of winter here in Syracuse and I am already dreaming of spring and warmer temperatures. While it’s a great time to stock up on some sweaters(lots of great sales) to get through the next 5 months of winter weather , I am already looking for items to add to my wardrobe for spring/summer. Here are a few of my Must-Haves.

  • Free People Bonita Robe-This robe is perfect for lounging around the house or at a summer music festival. I love how it is styled on the model and think this would look perfect with some ankle boots, high waisted shorts and a loose half tucked tank top. I can see myself living in this.
  • Kimchi Blue Crochet top-I am obsessed with billowy white tops and am looking to add different styles to my wardrobe. Off the shoulder style tops seem like they are going to be a big trend this year . Pair with some flares and a floppy hat for a 70s vibe or wear with some cut off shirts underneath.
  • Madewell Oversized Boyshirt -An essential staple for any closet should be a great button up shirt that you can wear to the office or on the weekends. The shade of blue  is easily worn as a classic white shirt and I like the loose relaxed style. I am also loving these two options from as well and am currently deciding which one to get first   Madewell White Courier shirt , Madewell Chambray Courier shirt ,
  • Free People Changing Times Tunic -Another item for Free People. I am in love with these printed tunics and tops from Free People and this is one of my favorite New Arrivals. The loose flowy fit is perfect for the heat of summer and the color is great for adding a pop of color to your winter wardrobe under a sweater or at the beach.
  • Sam Edelman Petty boot– I have been looking for a great ankle boot to wear year round. While on the blog New Darlings, these boots were featured in one of their posts and I fell in love with these. They come in different colors and are also available in suede.
  • See By Chloe Scalloped Poplin Dress– This is a perfect dress to throw on for work or for a weekend brunch. I love the scalloped edging at the bottom (a See by Chloe signature) and the easy fit of this dress.
  • See by Chloe Glyn Espadrille– I will be the first to admit, I am not a fan of the Chanel espadrilles every blogger seems to own and love. These however caught my eye. I love the combo of the light denim paired with white and black. This would go great with the dress mentioned above or with some rolled up boyfriends jeans.

What are some items you are looking to add to your wardrobe?

What I’m Loving on Instagram

These days my Instagram not only allows me to show my sense of style to others and connect with people, it also works as a style diary. I am able to see what items I wear repeatedly and what I wear them with. It also gets me to wear items that may not see the light of day and get more wear from more items. The downside is seeing my feed filled with gorgeous photos with gorgeous items that I start to covet. Here are a few things I am currently loving.

Bucket Bag- When the bucket bag trend started out, I was not a fan. It wasn’t until seeing this bag appear constantly in my feed that I started to take notice. I like that they aren’t as bulky as a tote and can carry quite a bit.

  • Mansur Gavriel has been all the rage the past few years with bloggers and street style stars. The bags come in different colors(mini bucket has the option of  different interior colors) and are hard to get your hands on.
  • Louis Vuitton Noe – Pre-owned bags are a great way to save money and a good option if you prefer a more vintage look/feel. I love the look of vintage Noe bags .
  • Alexander Wang Diego -If you know me, then you know I have a weakness for bags and shoes with studs. The hazel color is easy to wear and I love the rose gold studs!

Flares-Flares have been featured for the past few years with articles saying the style is coming back, however it seems like recently I have been seeing these show up on my Instagram feed, clothing websites and in stores. I’m not exactly short (I’m 5’7), however I always seem to be drowning in flares when I try them on. I will be the first to admit, I’m lazy and don’t want to go through the effort of having to get them tailored, however I would make the effort for the right pair.

  • Joe’s Jeans-This is my brand when it comes to denim. I love the medium dark wash of these flares and I find the fading and whiskering on their jeans to be flattering.
  • Free People-Known for their bohemian style of clothes and their flares are no exception. I love ripped jeans and these ripped knee flares have that perfect laid back look . Go for a full boho vibe with a flowy top and fur vest or casual in vintage band shirt or loose white t-shirt.
  • Rag&Bone -The inky dark wash and clean minimal look make these the perfect pair of jeans for dressing up for a night out.

Fresh Flowers– I have been trying to eliminate impulse shopping, not just for the closet, but overall. However anytime I see a photo of a gorgeous flower bouquet or a photo of someone standing in front of a stall at a flower market I get the urge to go out and buy flowers. Since I live in Syracuse, NY, sadly we don’t have a vendor that sells fresh floral bouquets at our market year round, however this is probably a good thing for my wallet.

Pink-Lately I have been gravitating towards the color pink (more of a soft pink than neon) from coats to shoes.  What could be better than feeling like your bundled up in some cotton candy?

  • J.Crew Stadium Cocoon coat-I love the cut of the coat and am in love with the bubble gum pink color with the gold accent hardware.
  • Calypso Cashmere Scarf-If a jacket is too much commitment , a scarf is a great way to incorporate this color into your wardrobe and something you can get more wear out of.
  • Free People -This looks like the type of sweater you buy in multiple colors and live in. The color ballet is a perfect soft pink and will go well with any shade of denim.

Planner: With the year coming to an end in a few weeks(I can’t believe it) I have been on the search for a new planner. I get asked why I don’t use my phone to enter appointments and reminders. For me, it’s because when I see the alert or notification, I usually ignore it. I like to be able to jot down notes and have a physical copy of reminders.

  • The Bloggers Planner-I love the cute covers that are offered and you have the option to choose size, cover, and can customize a cover title. Aside from being able to write down appointments like most agendas, there is a section for content planning, a wish list among other features.
  • Louis Vuitton -If you can’t tell, I love Louis Vuitton. At $365, this is an investment item.  I love that the agenda covers have slots where you can put credit cards and a pocket where you can place receipts, notes, or cash making this usable as a wallet as well. I do like that instead of buying a new planner every year, you just need to replace the agenda fill which can be found for cheap on ebay.
  • The Mon Monogram is a great  option if you want more customization that a basic hot stamp of your initials.
